WebV: Linkfinder is unable to incorporate genre into OpenURL

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 9

    Description:
    Bug Report for Issue 16384-5569 / VYG-4766
    Module: WebVoyage
    Server platform(s) affected: N/A
    PC OS: N/A
    Browser & version: All

    Releases replicated in: 7.0.3-
Last version without bug : 6.5.4

    Expected results:
The user expects to be able to add code into linkresolver.properties to include the genre in the building of a Linkfinder URL

    Actual results:
Adding in extra code doesn't break the feature, but the URL produced doesn't include genre

Workflow implications: Users are not able to build an OpenURL with genre, and this is a loss of functionality from Classic.

    Replication steps:
Enable OpenURL in linkresolver.properties by setting openUrl.cfg.LOCAL.openUrlDisplay=Y (change N to Y).
For any field you wish to use with OpenURL, find a line corresponding to the one below and uncomment it:
    #aulast=100/a/0//, /0/
Modify the subsequent 7 lines so that the URL will properly build a link based on any information used in the MARC record.
Note: There's no code available to incorporate 'genre' into the URL built.

    Resolution:
VYG-4766 is resolved in Voyager 9.0.0 and higher.
