Saving BulkImport rule causes "Database Error. Return Code -1400"

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Voyager
    • Product Version: 8.1.0

    Problem Symptoms:
-Making a change to or duplicating a BulkImport rule created in a previous version causes Error "Database Error. Return Code -1400."
-Changes are saved to the rule and are visible after.

    Cause:
This behavior is caused by Issue 16384-17681.

    Resolution:
    Fixed in Voyager 8.1.2

    Replication steps:
    1. In System Administration > Cataloging > Bulk import rules, before you?€™ve created any new rules after upgrading to 8.1.0, open a rule and edit it (this appears to happen more often with rules set to Load Bib/Auth Only).
    2. Click Save.
    3. Get a Database Error and click Details. See:
    Return code: -1400
    Module: Save Cataloging Bulk Import
    Form: Bulk Import Rule
    Missing Tags:
    4. If you click OK, close the rule and reopen it, you will see that the changes were actually saved.

    Workaround:
If you create a new dummy rule and save it, or save a rule that does not trigger the Database Error the error stops happening for all rules.
