    How to use command searching in WebVoyage

    Desired Outcome Goal:
    Use command line searching with WebVoyage.

    Procedure:
    To use command searching in WebVoyage you must have first enabled either the Command Search(CMD) or Command Search wth Relevance(CMD*) search types. To enable command searching see article: 000023768.

    1. To conduct a command search in WebVoyage you must first select the Command Search type from the Basic Search page in WebVoyage.
    2. To search within a particular index use the general format of [Search Code] [Search Term] e.g. (TKEY Agriculture)
    3. Link searches with boolean operators i.e. AND, OR, NOT. e.g. (TKEY "Animal Farm" AND NKEY Orwell)
    4. Use parenthases to group searches and link with boolean operators e.g. (TKEY patent OR copyright OR "intelectual property) AND (SKEY "intlectual property" AND JKEY "law review")
    5. The full list of available search codes can be found in Sys Admin > Search > Inexes. The most common search codes are shown below:

    Search Codes:
    Author name keyword ........................nkey
    Title keyword.........................................tkey
    Subject heading keyword...................skey
    Date of publication..............................260c
    Journal title keyword............................jkey
    Place (city) of publication...................260a
    Publisher name keyword...................260b
    Series title keyword.............................seri
    ISBN.......................................................isbn
    ISSN.......................................................issn
