Naming convention for new UStat users

    • Article Type: Q&A
    • Product: Alma

    Question

When creating a new UStat account, a user is prompted to fill in the following fields: "Phone country code + University initials (e.g. 01UEL)" and "Instance name." What does this mean?

    Answer

Phone country code + University initials (e.g. 01UEL)" refers to the company code, which is made up of the country code and then the inititals of the institution. For example, an institution in the United States might be called 01ABC, and an institution in Italy might be called 39XYZ.

"Instance name" refers to the SFX instance that the UStat account corresponds with. An Alma user who does not have SFX would instance use the name of his or her institution.

The combination of these two fields creates the UStat account name, so that the UStat account name for an institution in the United States might be 01ABC.abcdefg.
