    Equipment records not found by call number

    Description

    Equipment (such as laptops) is not retrievable by call number.  One example is HOL:

    8528 $$bMEDIA$$cDLAB$$hDLAB 5 .

    Resolution

    These items/HOL records have z30_call_no_type "8" / HOL 8528 . Per the MARC21 format, "8" is "Other scheme".
    Call numbers are typically searched using either a Direct index or a Browse/Scan.
    But the tab11_ind did not provide for LOC8 or PST8 in defining fields to be sent to the call number indexes.  tab11_acc did have this line:
    LOC## SHL -o 
    which *was* producing this entry in the z01:
    SHL MEDIA DLAB  DLAB 0000005
