Is there any "official" documentation for the command server_monitor mentioned in some KB items?
The functionality "server_monitor" is not an "official" functionality open for customers. It is used in internal scripts in Aleph (e.g. UTIL W to monitor and stop server processes). Therefore no official documentation exists. In some KB-items the command "server_monitor" is used to stop server processes (e.g. before clear_vir01).
Following there is an explanation of the parameters in this command:
t -> Type: For example "server_monitor -tks WWW" stops all WWW-server-processes.
When not using parameter type (server_monitor -ks) all server processes will be stopped.
k -> "kill-mode": Processes are stopped. If server_monitor is called up without option k the running server processes will be displayed on screen.
s -> "silent-mode": There will be no output or confirmation prompt on the screen.
The command server_monitor is only dealing with server processes (that are started with UTIL W 3). The command does not deal with daemons, batch queue, jobd...
