We are looking at running Aleph 19 in a 2 task model. From the Supported OS documents, I see that the latest Redhat you support for version 19 is RHEL 4, 32 bit. Since the configuration you suggested is approximately 32 GB RAM, it would be more efficient to run the database on a 64 bit OS.
Can we run Aleph on 32 bit RHEL and the database on 64 bit RHEL? Is this a supported configuration?
Yes, it is supported -- and, actually, recommended.
Followups [per Eyal]:
* the database server (in a 2-Task configuration) can be RHEL 5
* both Rhel4 and Rhel5 are supported with Oracle10 .
