16.02 Service Pack 1936: Failed to reply; Load error : file 'check_z07p_cre'

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

We just installed 16.02 Service Pack 1936 this weekend and have problems storing changes to our bib, item and holdings records (version 16.02)

When we make a change to a record and try to save it we get the following error message:
"Communications Error - Global 7: Failed to reply".

    The pc_server log shows:

    Load error : file 'check_z07p_cre'
    error code: 173, pc=0, call=370, seg=0
173 Called program file not found in drive/directory

The error leaves the record locked on the server so that when you try to bring the record up again you get the message 'The record is locked by another user...'.

When you view the record it looks like the changes ARE THERE in spite of the error message and the failure to release the lock.

    We have discovered the following:

"The January 2007 Service Pack (#1936) should be installed only if Service Pack #1761 (from August 2006) or higher has been installed on your server. If your current Service Pack is lower than 1761, you will need to wait until the next Service Pack (February 2007)."

This means that the 1936 Service Pack needs to be uninstalled, as follows:

    > cd /exlibris/aleph/a16_1/service_pack/1406-1936
    > sp.utility

Then select option #9 from the menu ("Uninstall Service Pack 1936").
