Many of our records are being rejected by the OCLC system because the 006 fields are too short.
We have investigated and found that these fields are too short in the records which we exported from Aleph; they should be 18 characters long and they are only 12.
However, they are correct within the system. In the records in the system the fields are filled with ^ (caret) which are being converted to blank on export. Usually, character position 11 contains a fill character ( | ) and non of the blanks after this are exported.
All fixed fields (001-009) that can legitimately have spaces at the end of the field should be exported with all ^ changed to blanks.
Can this be corrected?
The problem you reported was corrected by fix number 1479 in version 15.02
This is available in the SP for the different versions that can be downloaded from the Download Center in the Doc Portal
